| General Info | Debraj Roy College, popularly known as D.R. College, is a premier autonomous institution of higher education located at Jonaki Nagar in Golaghat, Assam. Established on 1st September 1949, it was the first college in the district, born out of the national freedom movement's awakening.The college holds an prestigious ‘A’ Grade accreditation from NAAC (awarded in 2023) and is recognized by the UGC as a Centre with Potential Excellence. Originally affiliated with Gauhati University, it came under Dibrugarh University in 1965.D.R. College houses 15 academic departments, serving a robust enrollment of over 2,500 students. It offers a diverse mix of Higher Secondary and undergraduate programmes across Science, Arts, and Computer Applications (BCA), alongside select postgraduate courses. Admissions are strictly merit-based, evaluated primarily on Class XII exam performance.
