| General Info | Golaghat Commerce College, established in 1972 by founder-principal Late Punaram Neog, is a premier higher education institution in Assam. Initially founded with public donations as a "people’s college" to boost the rural economy, it has grown into a leading centre of learning. The college is accredited with an 'A' grade by NAAC and holds autonomous status.Located on a 10-acre campus in Jyoti Nagar, Golaghat, the college originally started with only the Commerce stream. To fulfill regional demands, it introduced the Arts stream in 1989. Affiliated with Dibrugarh University, the institution currently offers various undergraduate and postgraduate programs, including B.Com, BBA, B.A., and M.Com.With an enrollment of over 1,200 students and a dedicated faculty, the college focuses heavily on skill development, critical thinking, and entrepreneurship. Beyond standard academics, it hosts active co-curricular units like the National Cadet Corps (NCC) and National Service Scheme (NSS) to promote holistic social development. |
